He came not to be ministered unto, but to minister and to give His life a ransom for the world. You get the bent of Jesus’ life in this. It is the law that runs absolutely contrary to everything that man has learned in a.life where self-preservation is a foremost law. Jesus came not to get; He came to give.

I used to think He came to find a crown, and then I learned that He found that crown on the cross. It wasn’t the kind of crown that you or I would accept or desire, but it was the crown of thorns

that the world gave Him.

They didn’t want Him, but that did not thwart His purpose. He came to bring life and liberty and love to the hearts of men. He never gave up until He had accomplished His purpose.

In that is the challenge to your heart and mind. You have a mission; I have a mission.

Shall we allow the unbelief and the selfishness of men to thwart our call and rob the world of the thing that we have?

We can’t do it. We that live, (and we do live), should no longer live unto ourselves but live unto Him. That means that we are to live to carry Him to the world, to give Him to the world.

It is not religion, it is not ethics, it is the living Christ that the world needs. It is not telling men how to give up sin; it is telling men how to receive Life, and to allow that Life in all its fullness to gain the supremacy in our spirits.

When that Life gains the supremacy, we have arrived. We have found the thing for which we came into being. We have contacted Him.

His life now flows into our life. His fullness meets our impoverished condition, and we become rich with His riches.

There is the actual participation of God’s very being as He participates in our very being. He became sin with our sin in order that we might become righteous with His righteousness. Our sin drove Him to hell: His righteousness bears us to heaven.

Now look at it practically. He came to our level and met us and lifted us by His love and His grace to His level. His level is sonship, and that is where we end . . . as children of God.

Now then, we have a mission. It is to go to the other man and tell him the story. You will have no  happiness. You will have no freedom. You will have no conscious thrill that comes from intimacy with Him until you have told it to someone.

So much is going to depend upon your testimony. If you refuse to share with that man the thing that God has imparted to you, you will lose the joy of possession.

The joy of possession comes by your sharing it with another. You go and carry His love life to that disconsolate, broken home. You go and let them see what God has done for you. You go tell the story and see its reactions in their life.

You know what He has done in your life. You have no right to withhold it. This is the biggest thing, the richest thing, the world ever knew. You are not carrying it to the masses, you are carrying it to individuals, and they carry it to another individual.

The entire thing is sharing. He shared it with you, now you are sharing it with another. He gave it to you, now give it to someone else.

You become their burden bearer until they learn to shift it on the Lord. You’re their teacher until they learn to enjoy the fullness of their privileges and become teachers themselves.

Your ministry is to give the world what has been given to you.
